I cannot log on to eBay as it states I now require IOS 17 to operate eBay .
I use an old iPhone 7 Plus max and don’t have it?
I’ve tried deleting eBay app but cannot find earlier versions on IOS Apps as suggested , Any suggestions ? This is infuriating and very poor customer treatment and now feel forced to upgrade my phone ?

Instructions here: How to update your eBay app
- Requires Android 10 or better
- Requires iOS 17 or better, but there are directions for iOS 16 users to download an older version of the app
If you're on an iPhone 7 with iOS 15 and cannot update to a compatible OS, you can still access eBay from a web browser on your device, and you'll probably want to delete the app so links open in your browser instead of the app.

my mother has an ipad running 15.5.3 (?) ios. iPad Air 2
The app was asked to update as per the thread- I have removed and tried to reinstall the last compatible version, but I still get the ' app needs to upgrade- exit or update button. it then exits to app store and won't open.
This is still a major issue- help anyone! Have software updated as much as we can. We do not wan t to use the web site/web portal

Because you can't update that model iPad past iOS 15, you won't be able to update the app. Even if it's not what you want to use, the website is the option available.

According to a post on the UK community boards, the latest version of the eBay app requires Android 10 or later, or iOS 17 or later.
There is another version of the app available for iOS 16 users; see here:
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Mobile-Apps/How-to-update-your-eBay-app/m-p/34920437#M50572
A possible workaround for iOS 15 users is suggested here:

If you cannot upgrade your operating system or find an older version of the app that works with your current operating system, you should still be able to use a browser to go to ebay.co.uk instead.
If eBay browser links are opening in the Android version of the app automatically, you can disable that by going to your device Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by default: Opens supported links and choosing "Don't open in the app". iOS users can tap and hold an eBay browser link and choose "Don't open in the app".
