eBay app won’t up grade and I can’t load in an older version

tried everything to up grade but it won’t is it just a upgrade to make you buy another I pad as I am sick of apple

Old versions of the app don't exist. 
You will need to update your device to download the newest version of the app. 
The latest version of iOS is 17.6.1 with 18 coming up soon. 
It is not just Apple that upgrades their operating systems its all companies. 
You can always use your browser on your iPad, that's what I am on right now. Safari 

But if your iPad is outdated you may have difficulty with not just eBay's app and other apps but websites too.

I'm assuming you're on a version of iOS 12 @davelljones . iOS 12 is from 2018 and Apple stopped supporting it nearly 2 years ago. You'd face the same issue with an Android device.

You'll have to access eBay through a browser on your iPad.

You might run into some tech issues even using the website since your device is unsupported. Same will happen for other sites and apps, not just eBay.

Unfortunately tech ages pretty quickly and once a device is no longer supported, it's upgrade or lose function.

I came across an odd one on this today. iPhone 7 would not download the latest version of the eBay app but my older iPad Air 2 was given the option to download an older version of the app that would be compatible with it 🤷‍♂️
