eBay app stopped accepting my username/password

The app stopped accepting my eBay log in, giving the message "oops, that's not a match!" even though I could log in on the mobile web site with the same log in details.
I uninstalled and reinstalled, now it takes ages to open (white screen for more than a minute) then a dialogue flashes up saying "logging in using smart-lock" but then opens with a large exclamation mark and I am not logged in. If I try to access anything to do with my account it goes to the log in dialogue but still won't accept either mine or my wife's log in details. They both work on the mobile and desktop sites and have been removed and reset in smart-lock.
Also noticed, if I start typing a search, suggestions don't work and it gives the error: "There was an internal error, please try re-starting the app"
I have cleared data, uninstalled, rebooted, re-installed, moved from device to sd-card and visa-versa, several times. Tried disabling smart-lock in google account. Nothing seems to work.
Please help, I use eBay very regularly and although I can still use the mobile site, I rely on the notifications from the app and it's easier to use.

Thank you for the report. Can you please contact customer support to verify that everything is ok with your account. Could you also fully uninstall the app and restart the device. Then visit GooglePlay and download the new version that was released last week. 

 

Did you see this happening on both WiFi and Cellular?

As stated in my post, I have already cleared data, uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled from Google Play several times (all this since the new release last week)

The app was working OK on Wi-Fi previous evening, it then failed to open properly while on cellular data, with the large exclamation mark and banners in red instead of blue.

When I tried to log in I got the "oops, that's not a match!" I then tried my wife's account and got same message. I then logged in to mobile site with same user/password which worked as it should.

When I got back on Wi-Fi, I tried again, but still wouldn't accept user/password. 

This was when I then updated to latest release, which then introduced the additional problem of the slow opening (white screen for a minute and occasional "eBay has stopped responding" messages), and still wont accept my user/password combo.

Additional observations which may help:

After disabling Smart Lock in Google account, deleting saved passwords for both mine and wife's account, then re-enabling Smart Lock, logged in to mobile site successfully and Smart Lock re-saved passwords for both accounts.

Then when I re-started eBay app, this time "Signing in via Smart Lock" appeared again and this time asked me which account to use, on selecting my user account it then said "!oops, that's not a match" within the Smart Lock dialgue, after clicking OK, it then went on to the exclamation mark screen as usual.

I have also found that when using cellular data (switched Wi-Fi off), when I start typing a search it says "no network found, please check your network settings" if I then switch Wi-Fi back on, the error changes to "there was an internal error, try re-starting the app". (BTW - My browser, m.eBay, etc. all still work ok with Wi-Fi off)

It just says Oops thats not a match either for a sign in or a reset password. It just stopped accepting my gmail and password on pc and android.

Can you try texting the temporary password optoin from the sign in screen?

I just started having the same issue! I reset my password and still no luck. It works on my pc but not the app on my phone. No matter what it says “oops, thats not a match.” Very frustrating since this was the only way i frequently used and checked ebay, was on my phone. Please help!

Thanks for reporting this too. Are you still unable to sign in with the app? Can you try using the one time password option to see if that works.
