Using an iPhone 5 with the last and final iOS, the eBay app stopped working first week of Feb 20 and on start up it wants me to upgrade. If I click on upgrade it takes me to the App Store where it will only let me 'open' the app. If I open the app it wants me to upgrade..... and the saga repeats.
the eBay app does not show in the list of apps requiring upgrading in the Apple AppStore app...
the ebay app appears to be crashed in its own vicious circle...
any help?

Thanks for reaching out. If I you have iOS 10 installed on your phone you should be able to upgrade.
1. Open the App Store app
2. Go to your account
3. Goto purchases
Scroll in your purchases until you find the ebay app.
This should allow you to upgrade

What alert is shown when you tap the download icon? Here is what we see when going into purchases on an iOS 10 device.
Thanks

When Clicking on the open button from the purchased list
clicking the upgrade button takes you back to the AppStore...

Thank you for providing those screen shots. Can you try deleting the app and then re-downloading it from the purchase/update list.

deleted and rebooted phone. Downloaded app and received confirmation message 'do you want to download the last compatible version? This version of eBay is not compatible with this device'.
Downloaded and installed and seemed to open up fine, however is the same version as the one that gave me grief a few minutes before (5.38.0).
It now seems to be operating fine.
Thank you.
