I’ve downloaded the latest compatible working version of the eBay app on my phone that’s still running iOS 12 on iPhone XS Max and still it forces me to exit and or update.
I’ve deleting the app on my phone and redownload from the cloud and still it’s the same. Is there any way to retain older working versions of iOS on the still capable iPhone XS Max? Thanks

Thanks for posting. Just want to make sure you did these steps below when trying to get the older version? if so and apple is still giving you a bad version you might want to upgrade that phone to at least iOS 13.
Your device is running iOS 12 you should be able to install version 6.9.6 from the App Store

Yes I’ve performed all of the above steps in removing the app from the device. However upgrading iOS won’t be possible on this device. Thanks

Having this same problem. Cannot download OS 13. I almost solely buy/sell on my phone, so this majorly hinders my selling and purchasing as I cannot access my account at all on my phone. eBay, please fix this problem! You're losing my business, along with several other people!

If you cannot download the latest IOS onto your device, the best way is to do the following:

This doesn't work. I have tried pressing the download newest compatible update and it just pops up again, so I press it again. And again. And again. I counted to 20 times in a row I pressed it repeatedly. Besides, as far as I know, I was up to date, save for the newest update.

As stated, instruction how to reinstall from eBay staff has been performed.
My banking app on this phone hasn’t implemented such checks to where it forces the user to exit despite the bank having to do routine updates to their app and me still running an older version of iOS.
For some reason, eBay presumes that it’s users have updated their iPhones and favors feature over utility. Not good.
