Will not get notifications unless app is open

My wife and I have Galaxy S9 phones from T-Mobile. After upgrading to Android Pie our eBay apps will not send notifications unless the app is open.

This is not acceptable - how can this get fixed?

everyone wants the chi-ching sound back.  heck i would just take any sound at this point!  yes i've tried all the fix attempts, simply does NOT work.  please fix!!!

yes of course, everything the re-install, reboot phone, you name it, it's maddening!

Same issue. I have signed out. Back in. Cleared cache. Reinstalled. Checked switches. Reset switches. Nothing works. The only thing left is reset the phone to factory.

Try going into your settings, then click applications, then click ebay, then click on app notifications and see if it is turned on that way?

Oh no, the cha-ching sound is really gone? I finally got a new phone and I" very spent the last hour googling like mad to find it and get it back. It's been coming and going for years based on the info I've found but it"s all been older info. I hope it"s not gone for good. I get a little rush every time I hear it.

i had 6 auctions end tonight with plenty of bids. got just one notification

What was the one notification you received? Are you receiving the notifications on your lock screen but the sound is not working or are you not getting notifications at all?

i received just one bidding notification and nothing else and I got the message while on the lock screen. in fact i kept turning on my phone from lock screen to regular screen etc. and nothing
