Why are there ads in your android app?

What could be the reason for such a large company to stick annoying, stupid, irrelevant ads in their app, trick question there is none, no conceivable reason to stick ads in the app, you make enough money of people selling **bleep** why take part in this most annoying of practice's, the website doesn't have any, I use ad blockers though, can someone, eBay staff, answer this, again I will ignore all none staff replies.

App version - what ever is the latest, not running it as it contains ads for no concievable reason.

Thanks for the post. There are ads on both the desktop and the apps, you may not be seeing the desktop ads because of your blocker. Some of the ads you are seeing are promoted listings from eBay sellers.

At the top of all forum pages is a blue link for <guidelines> to using the forums. Breaking most of these (and threatening do so perpetually) is kind of not asking for help. Its a fair point......I've noticed it myself in recent times. I loved ebay's app v3 it did everything I wanted and I do a lot. But these recent forced upgrades are purely done it seems to make you see all the ads they make extra revenue from which is a massive shame because I think advertising in general is killing the Internet. I get adverts everywhere now and its destorying my desire to use the net, facebook, ebay, hotmail.......bloody ads everywhere!
