eBay requires iOS 17 but my iPad Air 2 is on 15.8.3. When I go to the comparability section it says that it is compatible but in the pull down menu it stipulates iOS 17. On trying to ‘update’ it shows the eBay app with ‘ PLAY’ only to return to the app saying ‘exit or ‘update’; this goes on ad infinitum. Is it beyond the wit and comprehension of the eBay coding team to understand that backwards compatibility is of benefit to their customers? They should be cognisant of the fact that many vendors and buyers use eBay to avail themselves of cheap deals and, by extension, are perhaps unable to afford the latest hardware. ‘Vinted’ are rubbing their hands at this own goal.

According to a post on the UK community boards, the latest version of the eBay app requires Android 10 or later, or iOS 17 or later.
There is another version of the app available for iOS 16 users; see here:

If you cannot upgrade your operating system or find an older version of the app that works with your current operating system, you should still be able to use a browser to go to ebay.co.uk instead.
If eBay browser links are opening in the Android version of the app automatically, you can disable that by going to your device Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by default: Opens supported links and choosing "Don't open in the app". iOS users can tap and hold an eBay browser link and choose "Don't open in the app".
