I will share a simple fix that solve this problem which is a really annoying issue for me in the eBay iPhone app.
🧩 The Problem
Whenever I tried to revise a listing or open a draft, I kept getting this error:
“Unable to open draft — Error: 402”
I couldn’t edit or create new listings at all.
After some testing, I discovered the cause:
My seller account was registered on eBay Germany, but the app region was set to eBay US.
This region mismatch was causing all sorts of errors — especially when editing or saving listings.

💡 The Fix
Here’s what worked for me:
1. Open the eBay app.
2. Go to Settings → Country/Region.
3. Choose the country where your seller account is registered (for me, that’s Germany 🇩🇪).
4. Close and restart the app.
After switching the region, the app worked perfectly again — I could edit and create listings without any errors! 🎉
