Did you mean:

Search changing entered words

When entering search term, after a couple of seconds the term is changed without my input.

For example I entered "neovet" and shortly after it got changed to "nevet".

This behaviour has happened with other search terms as well.

Also after toggling eBay Plus filter the search term "nevet" got changed to "never" and the displayed products got changed to dog related non neovet products.

Toggling eBay Plus filter off changed products to completely pet unrelated products.

The behaviour is repeatable using the search term "neovet" and eBay Plus filter toggle.

I have a screen recording of the behaviour available if anyone is interested.

Search changing entered words

If a search that has worked well previously suddenly starts behaving badly, often the problem has something to do with a faulty keyword substitution or an inappropriate automatic category navigation issue.

You can bypass many of these sorts of search issues by putting one of your keywords in quotes. This forces eBay to bypass the "smart" features and to search for the literal keywords without any substitution or category switching. You may have to manually specify your category once again.

Using a desktop browser, find the "Feedback" icon that appears in the lower right corner of the search results page to let eBay page developers know about your search issues.

Search changing entered words

You are very welcome.

eBay used to have a help page that explained this in some detail, but unfortunately it was updated to a generic page about Advanced Search with few details of the actual search mechanics.
