Why is the app so buggy?
I literally have to force close & restart it every day.
Its so frustrating, you’d think it would perform like one of the best apps available, but no!

Thanks for the report. Can you please let us know what you are doing in the app when it starts freezing up? We will look into this.

Hi, Im not doing anything in particular, however after not using the app for a few hours it doesn’t seem to refresh when going back in & so I have to shutdown & reopen.

Thank you for the update. So the app stops loading various pages/screens and if you force quit the app it starts working again for a while?

Hi. I've noticed the same behavior in the iOS app (iphone and ipad). This started about a moonth ago but I can't pinpoint which update. When first opening the app everything is fine. Then, move on to other apps, which puts the eBay app in the "background". When you return to the app:
- The notification badge may show that there are no notifications but tapping on the Notifications icon will show "You're all caught up!" and old notifications are missing. Basically a blank screen. See attached.
- The Watching page will be blank with a spinning wheel and the "Loading..." message.
- Purchases tab is just blank. No activity.
- The Search tab comes up normally, showing recent searches, but trying to repeat one of them just gives a spinning wheel with the message "Searching..."
- Force quit the app and relaunch and everything is fine.
This is on iOS 11.3. Same problem was happening on iOS 11.2. Hope this helps.

Thank you for these details, this helps. How long is the app usually in the background before you notice this happening? Are you switching between wifi and cellular or other wifi networks when the app is backgrounded?

The app can be in the background for as little as 30 minutes (roughly) for this problem to occur.
Also, it can happen both on wifi & cellular connection.

Hi. Usually it takes a while: more than an hour, for example. Overnight it definitely will happen.
There is no change of network during this time.

I just tried my iphone, a minute ago, not having used the app since yesterday and it happened again.

This happens to me as well. I did a screenshot video showing what it does. As soon as the app is put into the background, I can go straight back to it and it doesn’t load unless I force close it.
I sent end the video screenshot to iosfeedback@ebay.com

Thank you so much. We received the video and had a couple more questions for you via email.
