Scans

I am getting a lot of scammers on this site. I may pull my items off if it keeps up. One person thought I was dumb enough to go buy a gift card fir him to send with the item he was buying from me. Sent me a PayPal message in my junk folder. I’m new to selling on eBay and thank God I’m not dumb. I do not like the site at all.

Re: Scans

@darlwalke-5

There has always been scammers here, but, ever since COVID-19 and eBay's money back guarantee there has been a drastic increase in scammers here.

So glad you didn't fall for this scam. I am posting some info, so that others can maybe read the info and not fall for this scam.

This is one of the oldest scams here on eBay! Scammers target new sellers such as yourself. I am including info below so others can read an hopefully not fall for this type of scam.

Anyone that asks you to send gift cards and that they will pay you for them and give you money for doing it is scamming you. The sellers next step if you agree is to send you a dummy "invoice" that will really look like it came from eBay, asking you to add a gift card and they will pay you for it.  The buyer  will take the numbers from them and cash out and you will not be able to get you money back! Then the buyer disappears. You loose everything.

They will send you fake Paypal invoices and paid emails, hoping that you will send without checking.

Never agree to send to another address that isn't registered with eBay, you will loose what little protection you have if you do that. This is part of the scam!

Block the buyer, stop messaging them and run!

I would advise that you report this ad to the site that you found it on to try and get it removed.

You can also report the ad to:

Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) www.ic3.gov

Hope this helps!
