On January 12 I bought a Journey computer from a guy with 0 feedback it was a scam so today January 30 was the day I can open a case and eBay removed the item from my account so I’m out $55 plus $8 shipping. Is eBay protecting scammers like this?

You can call eBay, open a PayPal case or a credit card chargeback. You should be able to get your money back.
