The problem may be related to how the app treats certain eBay browser links. Using a different browser may bypass the issue entirely for you.
If your particular favored browser is giving you that error, try going to Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by default: Open supported links and choose "Don't open in this app". That should allow eBay browser links to open in your browser rather than trying to open in the app, and it may prevent the error you are seeing.
