No supported browser found to open the link, message

In the Android app when I try to check out and use PayPal, I get that message, if I go on the web site I have no problem, let me also mention that I've been using ebay and PayPal together for many years never had this issue, if I can't use PayPal I will not be using this app, and I have tried reinstalling it as well, please help

It is possible the problem is related to your app settings.

Is your app set to automatically open browser links in the eBay app?

If so, go to your device Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by Default: Open supported links and choose "Don't open in this app".

That might prevent the "no supported browser" error.

I'm getting the same error msg on my Samsung s21. It has only started doing this in the last 24 hours and even prevented me from writing this post. Ebay please fix

In another thread one user indicated that using a Samsung browser allowed getting around that error message and checking out:

I believe that the browser the message is referring to is a browser that opens when you're checking out with PayPal, I'm going to talk to PayPal and report back, I'm able to checkout with no problems using chrome, so it may be an issue between the ebay mobile app and PayPal

I saw another user commented along the lines of this- Just tried this method and it works, open Ebay through Google, NOT the Ebay app. Lets you checkout with Paypal 👍

And if I do this, explain to me why do I need the ebay app?

Who told you that you need the eBay app?

The eBay app is a possible alternative to using a browser, but is not a requirement to purchase on eBay.

As long as your default browser is supported, you should be able to use the eBay app to complete your purchase via PayPal, though.

The post you are replying to is a year and a half old.

I'm replying to a year and a half old because this problem just happened to me yesterday and I'm trying to find a solution, thank you very much for your help!

The solutions are the same -- use a different default browser that allows you to sign in to PayPal when using the eBay app, check out using a different (non-default) browser rather than the app, or else use a different payment method to pay aside from PayPal.
