New iOS app. No notifications

I have updated to the new app and didn’t get notification of a new message ?

phone was locked. 

App was running, on search area. 

To to have a moan.   

Everytime I dare update the eBay app it gets worse!!!!

and why does it clear the search history so much ? Can’t we have a longer list like we had years ago?
