Message about using a browser for business policies

1000187278.jpg

I keep getting this message in the app and my business policies are set as far as I can tell.

Any help would be appreciated as I can list much faster in the app than the browser.  Thanks.

Re: Message about using a browser for business policies

I've seen a few people talking about this, but when I checked on the app just now I had no problem applying my business policies on the app.

What OS version are you using?

What version of the eBay app are you using?

Temporarily you can use a browser on your device to complete your draft and assign business policies, or you can opt out of policies entirely if you don't want to use them.

Manage and edit policies, or click the opt out link on the upper right on this page.

----------------

To file a tech report on the app:

1. Shake to report. Physically shake your device while the app is open and that will trigger the option for you to file a tech report or submit feedback on product features.

2. Anywhere you see the three dots or the ? you can tap on that to file a report. Screenshot below.

Re: Message about using a browser for business policies

Problem reported. I can't edit any existing drafts or revise any existing listings because of the error. As soon as you try and edit a listing, the error message pops up so you can't do anything with business policies to correct whatever it's complaining about. I'm using the Android app. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Same error.  Android v. 6.203.0.2

Re: Message about using a browser for business policies

Yeah, I am seeing about half a dozen threads here and more on Reddit in just the past hour and a half or so. With this many people affected, if everybody does the "shake to report" eBay should jump on it pretty quick in the morning.

Until tomorrow, you may have to make your edits with the web browser if anything is urgent and can't wait.

I found this on the UK community board. Seems like the US is affected too....

I saw that, and it is related to a new policy in the UK that we don't have.  Come on ebay.

Thanks for that. Definitely explains it. Do you have a link for that page? I notice your screenshot says 'temporarily' although the FAQ I found on the UK's Simple Delivery here does not mention 'temporarily'.

"Starting 7 April, certain features on the eBay app will no longer be supported. This includes business policies, the ability to set a handling time of more than 3 days, adding a custom SKU, subtitle, and Global Trade Item Number, and using the Gallery Plus feature.

You’ll still be able to use business policies when listing through your web browser, but if you’d prefer to list using the app, you can disable business policies in My eBay. The policies set on your existing listings will not be affected."

Never mind, I found the link:

https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Seller-Central/Why-can-t-I-list-from-the-eBay-app-now-Simple-deliver...

It shows an image of a message eBay sent to sellers in UK.

I don't think this is supposed to affect US sellers, though. The fact US sellers are seeing it on Android but not iOS may support that line of thinking? I suggest shaking to report as a tech error until we get more info from eBay, hopefully tomorrow.

Re: Message about using a browser for business policies

We don't have Simple Delivery so it doesn't affect us but they apparently rolled it out to our Apps anyhow.  🙄

Re: Message about using a browser for business policies

Came here after noticing the same thing. Thought I could get some listings up quickly before bed after a long day, but probably can't now. I swear it's always something with eBay...

Same here. Can't list or edit on the app in the US since this evening.

Still not working this morning.  I've reported it three times from the app.

I just updated the app thinking that might fix it.  No luck.  Still getting the error message.

Good morning all. There is currently an ALERT15875 related to this issue. This will be added to the tech board, but please reach out to have yourself added to the ticket.

Thank you

Thanks!  I already reported in the app so that should add me to the ticket, correct?
