That is the Google Play Store version, how about the version of Google Play Services?
If your version of Services is earlier than 18.3.82 or you are having trouble getting the latest version of the eBay app (5.34.0.9), try that link in the first message.

Hi all,
I'm new to the forum but thought I share how I got the ebay app working g again on my Samsung S10+
I was receiving the error and tried the suggestions in the link on the opening post, but it didn't work. In addition try:
1 Install ebay app
2 From: Settings - Apps - (deactivate the Google app) you can turn it back on again later if you use it.
3 From: Settings - Apps - Google play services - click on storage - click on clear cache. Also click on manage storage - click on clear all data.
4 from: Settings - Apps - Google store - click on storage - click on clear cache. Also click on clear data - click on ok.
5 From: Settings -Apps Google play services - click on the 3 vertical dots in the top right hand side - click on uninstall updates.
6 From: Settings - Apps Google play store - click on the 3 vertical dots in the top right hand side - click on uninstall updates.
7 From: Settings - Device care - press optimizes (if already at 100% run memory & storage options manually (click clean now for both)).
8 Reboot your phone
9 Launch the ebay app and sign in (it may take several minutes to get past the point where the error appeared before, so please be patient.
It worked for me, I hope it helps everyone.

Decided to try the mobile app since eBay gave me a $2 off coupon for a purchase made through it, and I'm getting the same problems: the triangle with a ! when it loads, and an "Invalid Request" notice when trying to log in.
Android Device: samsung sm-g950u1
Android OS version: Android 5
Google Play Services: 18.3.82
No custom rom
Tried various troubleshooting methods I've seen, such as clearing the cache and uninstalling/reinstalling, nothing has worked. Stupid of ebay to give a coupon a lot of customers can't use because the app doesn't work on their device.

Current version of Google Play Store is 16.0.16.
Make sure Google Play Services is up to date, and then update Google Play Store.

From logcat, it safetynet not passing or not able to verify is causing login/crashes issues if you running custom with magisk/root or running device without google services. If you have custom rom which pass safetynet at stock without root, ebay should works fine.
I know the new app support new android/google pay feature which require safetynet to pass. This is bad implementation of google pay from what I see. Maybe run verification during checkout instead of app start/login?
I don't see why other function should be lockout when sellers only use the mobile app to reply back message and manage orders etc.
