I'm running the 5.27.1.2 app on the latest update of Nougat, complete with the security update released by Motorola/Lenovo 2 days ago. About 1/2 an hour ago, I went to check feedback info on a seller and found myself logged-out of the app. Every single feedback section shows "Buyer: Not Available" within each entry of the feedback page, and tapping to open any link immediately logs me out and I'm forced to sign in again. No matter how many times I log back in and check feedback, I get tossed out. No matter what seller I go to, I get tossed out. Clearing the system cache, clearing the app cache, rebooting the phone, opening a watchlist item or choosing a random item from anywhere in the app..... they all give me the exact same result.

 

I have not updated the app after reading of the major issues created by some recent updates that other's had installed, and now I don't even need to tempt fate by doing an update, because someone is breaking the app without any update being done. 1 Hour ago I checked feedback's without error, and 30 minutes later I can't.

 

Checking on the desktop site still works just fine, but that isn't workable when I'm away from a desktop browser. And if you're with eBay tech support, please don't tried to convince me that I need to update the app because that's what's broken. That's nonsense - plain and simple.

Checking on the desktop site still works just fine, but that isn't workable when I'm away from a desktop browser.

 

No idea what the problem is with your app, but it is possible to request the desktop site while using a mobile browser.

If you want to try to troubleshoot your old version of the app and you still have access to a download of the same version, you might try uninstalling, rebooting your phone and then installing that same version again.

Thanks for the reply, but nothing in your answers addresses the main issue I raised... which is that the app has stopped functioning in a matter of minutes, and it did so with no app update or user intervention by me. 

 

1. What I can see on a desktop's browser output isn't relevant. I'm using the Android app on my fully updated Nougat OS phone, and I'm not accessing and using eBay via any web browser on my phone.

 

2. I have made NO modification to the app (or my phone OS, or any other app in the last 48 hours or so), nor did I encounter the issue after doing any update to eBay's app. The 5.27.1.2 version that's currently loaded was working - and 30 minutes later - the 5.27.1.2 version was logging me out when doing the very same in-app function, with the very same items, and with the very same sellers, that were 100% functional just 30 minutes before. There's absolutely no need to diagnose or juggle app versions and reload something that never changed one iota.

 

As a coder myself, I suspect that some piece of code running on eBay's servers was modified and made live. Whether it was a basic/core function, or an API call, or a modification to an underlying CDN linked JavaScript's variable that was changed... the end result was that it affected the app's instructions on what to execute when the in-app link was tapped.

 

Whatever that change was, It caused the 5.27.1.2 version app to mis-display data, and alternately log me out when tapping the link, when it should have switched to a new screen with it's display of the drilled down data of an individual feedback response. It was immediately repeatable, and it did not revert back to it's earlier behavior of operating normally. No amount of cache clearing - at any level - changed the results. No other functionality that I'd normally use as a buyer in searching for and/or bidding or buying seemed to be affected.

Thanks for the report. Is this when looking at your own feedback or feedback of others? Can we see the screen you were on before this screen.

Multiple people are having issues checking their feedback within the app.

 

You guys have all the same date, others are getting kicked out of the app when they check.

 

For me, mine is just blank. When I select my profile and feedback, it shows no feedback in past 30 days but there should be at least 20.

I can’t see anyone’s feedback. I can click on “positive”, “neutral” and “negative” but once it goes to the next screen it says “seller has no feedback”. My own feedback is doing the same thing.

I am having the same problem with feedbacks.  All dates are April 1...April Fool joke maybe? LOL  - I am sure Ebay is aware and trying to fix the problem.

I have the same issue with feed back and dates being the same since the update. Tried uninstalling etc even spoke to ebay tech still the same 😏
