Ebay apps delteting item descriptions and replacing them with random information

Every time I relist an item since the app update it deletes the pre written description and replaces it with a copy of the title, even when I re write the description it deletes it and replaces it with its own version.

Two pictures attached, 1st is the listing ebay decided to remove and change the description, the 2nd is my original listing with details. 

Why is this happening?

Get rid of the app. It has to many problems that can't/won't be fixed.

Same problem, I hope this is just a glitch and not permanent. I only use the mobile app and have for years. I don't understand why the process of listing seems to become longer, always adding more steps. The whole point of using the app is for speed (at least for me).  I am going to call, although I am not very confident there will be a solution.

If you tap on the description does the full description show up properly? What you are seeing is a feature where the item page will take the most important parts of your description and show it to the buyer. If you would like to control what is shown in this section.

I am familiar with the full description, however this is different problem. When listing an item using sell similar my written description is replace with the title, the condition and shipping method. I use the sell similar function all the time primarily with postcards, due to my exclusions on international shipping and the choices I offer.  I did contact customer service and was told the issue is being caused by the using the sell similar and it becoming corrupted after several uses. I have never had this happen. I list the item, select sell similar with each new listing retaining all of my description, shipping options, category etc. So I just am not sure I accept the corrupted file solution.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, ebay is deleting any detailed description I already had and replacing it with whatever is in the title.

so basically if i write a detailed description of a jumper, where its from, details about the company, print or my own thoughts on it the ebay apps are now removing it and replacing it with generic details taken from the drop down choices

Look at the attachments, the first is a detailed description of a jumper I am trying to sell written by me, look at the second picture which is the relist, ebay have completely changed it. Why

Me too as of this morning! I just posted this same thing in the selling board. This is horrible! Its bad enough mine default to priority shipping (should be first class) so that I have to go in and fix it, but now it makes even more assumptions? And the language is generic and broken! Ew. I take time to write my descriptions. I’m not an idiot ebay. Please turn off that feature or tell us how to do it since you imposed it on us without our permission or notification.

Someone at eBay thought it would be a great help to autofill my description with what is in my title. I have to erase each auto filled listing so so can put my own. The people at customer support are clueless. They say it is a glitch. The autofill also includes my shipping even though I have not yet listed a shipping service. This is causing hours of excess work for me and is one of the worst ideas anyone has ever come up with.

It’s doing it to me on brand new listings not just sell similar.

It’s happening  in the midst of  listing. I left the text editor to update shipping details, went back to the description field and it was replaced with the title. It’s doing it with new listings as well as sell similar and old drafts.  

So happy I stayed up until 7am on a listing spree only to find all of my drafts are wiped out. Now I have to redo the  descriptions, measurements and other tedious **bleep** all over again.

I haven't updated the app (on purpose) in 14 months.. and all was well! I accidentally hit the “update” button in the App Store last week and will never forgive myself.  This is the most ridiculous, bloated,  nonsensical app update ever.
