Ebay Motors Android Search not working

It is Mar 3, 2025 in Florida and for 2 or 3 days the eBay Motors App search engine does not work and shows a message,"Sorry something went wrong. We're having trouble loading content right now." 

The problem does not seem to be my phone, which is a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. Solutions attempted: reinstalling eBay Motors App, cleaning memory, Uninstallng eBay Motors App, restarting phone then reinstalling eBay Motors App, cleaning out cache memory for Google play store and eBay Motors App and none of these solutions have worked.

I see the same "Something went wrong" when searching using the eBay Motors app (3.66.0) on my Android 11 phone.

Try using the regular eBay app to search for vehicles instead. That seems to still work for me.

You are 100% correct, search is currently broken but we are working on it.

THE BAD NEWS

A technical update (DNS specifically) broke one of our key API connections causing Search to fail on the

motors app. 

THE GOOD NEWS

The team is working to both fix the tech issue and get a new version of the app out today. Once the new version is in the store (android should be immediate after publish) search will be fixed.  Will update when we have it resolved. SO SORRY and thanks for understanding.

UPDATE: The DNS issue has been fixed at the source BUT it can take a while for those changes to work their way through all the tubes to where you are.

Android seems to update the DNS more quickly and many users are back up and running from our anecdotal evidence thus far. 

No New version will be needed to fix this issue BUT our newest version will be more robust to make sure this particular issue never happens again.

LAST UPDATE:  The DNS seems to be updating quickly and at least for a good number of our teammates, including me, it is back up and running.

If you are still having issues try restarting the app (remove it from the multi task panel). If issues persist after about an hour please let me know.  Thanks again for your patience.

Stopping and restarting the eBay Motors app version 3.66.0 (65951) seems to allow me to search by keyword once again.

Hi ,

I was having the same problem regarding search on eBay motors app ,and I deleted the app and start installing it again from my App Store to my iPhone .

and I can’t install eBay motors app again it’s say it’s not available in my country(Israel) ,but I was used it for years ,please advise ?

I am sorry the eBay Motors App is only available in the US due to legal restrictions.
