Have been locked out of the app just now because of some stupid daily limit error message.
Have never heard of this happening on any other platform.
Why does eBay do this to its customers?

Probably to limit hackers from trying successive password attempts to break into your account.
Use a browser to go to ebay.com or ebay.co.uk until you are able to use the app again tomorrow.
