Battery usage of android app?

Recently noticed that my new (and thus newly installed) phone loses battery charge quite rapidly. The culprit: Ebay  

Why on earth is that App consuming nearly 40% of a charge while only being active for a few minutes?

Because im having the same issue,  in my case.

My Xperia Tablet Z running Android 5.1.1 still has its battery drained overnight by the latest eBay app (v5.18.1.2 March 2018).

The only way to prevent the drain is to terminate the eBay app, which is easier said than done because I'll forget to do so 99% of the time.

My Sony Xperia always kept notifying me of the ebay app draining the battery, and the Sony battery saver mode could not shut it off.  Now I have a Samsung Galaxy and it also keeps notifying me that the ebay app battery usage is an unusually high percentage.  I discovered Greenify, which will force hibernation of any app you choose.  Of course if used, the ebay app won't be able to notify you if you've been outbid, or anything else.  Some phones will have to be rooted for Greenify to work.  eBay, get your software guys to fix this please.  Listen to your users as well as your shareholders.  We users supply the money for you and them.
