I am using Apple iOS 18.1 with VoiceOver the current Ebay app no longer functions using Apple voiceover. It does not read aloud the menu options. It just says the word button. Also when you list an item it does not open up the edit box to enter in the title manually

Does it work if you use the browser and go to the web site?

if I could keep the eBay app from opening every time, I try to use Safari to view eBay webpage… It would be a lot easier… However; no, the same symptoms do not apply when using a website version i.e. through a browser. The app however, does not provide image descriptions of any kind for watchlist searches, etc., etc.

well, if eBay would stop opening the app when I try to use Safari web browser… Lol! To answer your question, no, image, descriptions, item, listings, and watchlist, etc. searches also will give image descriptions and item descriptions clearly… But… The app is non-functional with regard to same items.
I use eBay constantly at least 3 to 4 times daily… This was a non-issue as of Tuesday afternoon for me anyways.
when in the app, all I get is the word "button "when I switch from listing object to listing object.

Thanks.
I have the app, but only use it for notifications and nothing else.
I don't see how anyone conducts any business using it, guess I'm to old.

Hi @mrdvd05 , thanks for bringing this to our attention! We’ve let the correct teams know, and they’re working on resolving this.

Looks like eBay's on this (thanks kayomi@ebay ), but in the meantime @jockboi :
If eBay browser links are opening in the app automatically, you should be able to tap and hold an eBay browser link and select "don't open in the app" to prevent that from happening.
I'm not sure how much you navigate with touch vs voice, but hopefully that method can temporarily assist you.

thank you I'll try the touch hold option. Next time. I need to use eBay in the browser… As for the sellers hub… I could only imagine how hard… I know how tough they keep making it for us to just simply browse and shop… Thanks, everyone
