What version number of the app do you have?
Try uninstalling, restarting your device, and then installing the latest version of the eBay app. The restart in between should ensure a clean install; if there was a problem with a previous installation or update, that can cause instability issues later and prevent further updates.
Version 6.124.0.1 seems to be working for me on my Android phone.
