App returns "invalid request (Request. TIDE. 485390)" on IOS 9.3.2

I have an iPhone with IOS9.3.2

I can open app but it just returns "Invalid Request. (Request. TIDE. 485390)"

It's been almost a month now and eBay support are either being very lazy or very vague. 

Anyone have the same problems/a solution?

Don't blame eBay. Apple iPads and iPhones are to blame. Many apps won't work without the newer operating systems.

Can't eBay make a deal with Apple to

The app stopped working without any change to the operating system. So this line of reasoning is incorrect. I blame eBay, they've had long enough to sort this out and have done nothing, and don't seem to care to do anything.

My iPad 3 is running ios 9.3.6 (the latest it will support) and I have only recently (May 2020) started experiencing the problem. Yep, it's an older machine but I don't want to toss it simply because eBay's IT department decided to "fix" something that was not broken. Please, eBay, make the problem go away.
