Android app - doesn't work over mobile connection?

Just installed eBay app on a new Android phone and discovered that it stubbornly refuses to work over mobile Internet connection. It works fine over WiFi connection, but just waits, waits and waits for something (spinning circle) over mobile connection. Eventually it either complains about connection problems ("No network found" banner at the top) or displays a triangle with an exclamation mark.

Meanwhile, mobile Internet connection on the phone works perfectly fine. All other apps have absolutely no issues accessing Internet over mobile connection (Amazon, Chrome, YouTube etc.) But eBay app just keeps acting as if there's no Internet connection and saying that "No network found". This makes no sense.

What could be the culprit in this case?

Some folks in Southern California are reporting problems reaching ebay.com over the last two days or so -- not sure if that is related to your situation, though.

Make sure you have the latest version of the eBay app: 5.38.0.14

If not, try deleting the old version, restarting your phone and then installing the new version from the Google Play Store.

If you are having difficulty getting the latest version, check to make sure you have the latest versions of Google Play Store and Google Play Services -- sometimes new phones do not have the latest versions pre-installed, and that can cause issues.

I am based in Southern CA and having the same problem.

I tried re-installing. It seems to work occasionally, but runs really slow at first. After a little while it returns to the same problem.

It works great on Wifi though.

There seems to be some sort of problem reaching ebay.com for folks on ATT Mobile at the moment.
