Hi, my saved searches on my iPhone keeps adding %20 in between the words which means that once saved, it finds no results. However, if I open the app on my iPad, then the searches work fine. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Thanks for the report. Can you let us know what version of the app you are currently using?

Hi, currently version 5.25.0 but it’s been doing for awhile
i tried adding () to the search words (I.e (land) (rover) (wheels)) but that just changed the string to %29%20%29 instead

If you do a normal search and not use a saved search is it adding the spaces to the search? If you create a new saved search does it work properly?

If I start with a fresh normal search, then it is fine. If I then save that search and go to look back at it later, it will have added the %20 in the spaces.
if I open up that saved search, then the text in the search bar will read fine but below it reads ‘no results found’ because the string has got %20 in it.
The only way to use that saved search is to add a space between the words but then it’s like a new search

It has been doing that on saved search function on desktops since at least March 2018. Others reported same on mobile apps at that time, there were at least 2 threads on this forum regarding it then, nothing happened, I dont think an ebay rep even replied to the thread. I also did "tell us what you think" feedback several times on it but, ebay seemingly did nothing as well with that info. It was just something that I happened upon and apparently others who posted on the forum additionally experienced same. I am a buyer only, I rarely save searches, so it does not impact me very much, since I have been "bookmarking" all the searches I want to ever run again in my browser since the search engine was modified to the near-worthless state that exists now when the wild cards were taken away and search string character count was severely limited 5 or so years ago. It is just something that has been there for months and I just ignore it and "bookmark" a search if I want to run it again. Seemingly with every programming "improvement" here, there are some little things that never work correctly again as a direct result of the ebay improvements.

Thanks for the reply, it’s very irritating that eBay will do nothing about it. I think I’ve had the problem since March that that ties up.
I don’t understand why it works on one platform (ie the iPad) but not on my phone. Come on eBay, sort this problem out.
