Problem printing Ebay shipping labels from iPad

So there was a point when I didn't have any problems printing wirelessly from my iPhone or iPad, but recently every time I try to print an ebay shipping label from my phone or iPad the barcode area doesn't print properly and it's just a block of grey, I can also tell that the resolution is much lower than usual. This only happens when printing ebay  labels from my iphone or iPad. I don't have this problem printing from my laptop. I actually bought another printer, thinking,  it was the printer but nope, it wasn’t . Can anyone provide some tips on how I may resolve this issue? Thank you

What is the ETA on the fix of this issue?

This has been going on since ebay changed shipping label designs from the square barcode in the upper right to the long rectangle barcode.

As you can see from the image posted by @smart_home_stuff That long barcode prints correct but the letter and tracking barcodes are blacked out. I only mention the long barcode because that was first appearance of the issue. It has been happening for about a year. With hurricane season starting we NEED the ability to print from a mobile device.

With no ebay'er having the ability to print shipping labels from an iphone using air print fix is needed urgently!

Quick follow up. This happens both on the app and on safari on iphone 6 and 11pro.

Thank you for all the posts about this issue. In our testing here the labels are looking correct. 

We would like to know, what version of iOS you are using, what version of the app you have installed, which browser you are printing from.

If we could get exact steps that might be helpful too if someone is able to take screen shots of each step and email us iosfeedback@ebay.com we will get to the bottom of this.

IOS version 13.5.1 and many earlier versions have been effected.

Ebay IOS app version 6.2.0 and many earlier versions have been effected.

The blacked out barcodes happen on both safari and the ebay app.

Because this is such a long running issues and many updates have happened it is unlikely to be a version bug or outdated software as mine is up to date and still having issues.

The printer in my case is an HP M227FDW with the latest firmware update and the printing method with the problem is Air Print specifically (firmware updated to test for a fix). This same printer prints fine on a windows computer with wired USB cable. The problem only happens when using air print from the iphone.

For clarity I wanted to follow up to mention that this is not network or wireless printing. The problem for me happens when using air print. This is where the phone connects directly to the printer as if it were a network device and uses the phones data as the internet connection even though the selected network chosen is the printer itself. Hopefully this helps to narrow down the problem.

Yes that is correct in my case. Only Airprint produces the the failed labels. Windows PC and the same printer print the labels fine. Also the same printer printed the old labels perfectly as well even though Airprint (the old labels being the ones with the stamp sized barcode in the upper right corner). The failed labels only started after the new long rectangle barcode labels were released.

This has been happening to me as well... Within the past few months.  From iPhone or iPad via AirPrint.  Label prints exactly as the photo shows earlier in the thread — the barcode background is very dark grey, obscuring the black bars and therefore unable to be scanned by USPS.  I have an iPhone 11 Pro, and an iPad Pro.  This has occurred across the various updates of iOS 13 over the past few months.  I have no other issues AirPrinting anything but this.  Very frustrating.

Next time you go through this could please do an iOS screen recording of the exact process and email it to us iosfeedback@ebay.com this might help us troubleshoot.

Thank you for responding and continuing to work on this issue! I am not sure how to record video on my ios device but I can tell you that this problem happens any way a label is printed. Whether it is printed though the moble app, printed though "reprint label" on the label confirmation email, or reprinted thorough the shipping label history. This problem is reproduced every way I print a label from IOS ebay app or safari. There isn't just one way it happens since it happens every way. Also the label displays correctly in the browser and app, it just prints wrong.

Im having the same issue with my new HP printer. I did not have the problem with my old HP printer. I have no idea where the problem lies, but its very frustrating. Even the problem is inconsistent. Labels print differently nearly every time. Sometime bar code is grey, sometimes black, sometimes it prints correctly. Its all over the place. Labels print just fine from my wireless desktop.

Last night HP pushed an update to my printer that has resolved the blacked out labels (at least for now). I encourage everyone to update their printer and try to use air print again and still if you have trouble. Bad software in the printer itself is looking like the cause and ebay labels might have just been a type of item that was effected.

I’ve been having the same problem where the barcode does not print clearly when printing from the iPhone and iPad app. I have an HP Laserjet. Today I tried the “Email Label” option And sent it to my Gmail. I downloaded the pdf to my MacBook and printed the and the barcode is perfect. They have to fix the Ebay app.
