3 days ago my Apple IOS updated itself changing the search display and stopping me from making repeat purchases with the following message - “We did not find your transaction in our system (Trading.396)”. In fact I get this message just trying to view the seller’s listing.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled the App twice but still not working. If I uninstall the App, I can view these items and make repeat purchases using Safari and can also do it on my PC so it’s not something wrong with my account. This morning an App Store update for eBay appeared, 6.4.0, which I installed but still have the same problem.
Please advise on a fix.
Thank you.

Thanks for all the reports. We are looking into this. It appears to be an issue when looking at items that were previously purchased. This should work if you try to re-purchase and look at these items on the website for now.

Thanks for the report. We are looking into this. Can you tell us what you are tapping on when you get that error? Are these items in your watch list? Or purchase history?

Same thing I reported more than a month ago.

I also have the same problem. I usually buy the same items from time to time. It's like if the application leads you to the previous purchase and from there you should press on 'Buy another', and when the previous purchase has been edited or something else is different, then the eBay app shows that error message. With desktop version everthing is fine. I'm disappointed because before realising this I already bought some items from other sellers since I thought that something was wrong with the listings. I hope you will fix this soon. Thanks.

Thanks for posting these examples. We would like to see the screen you are on before you get this error. Can you please email that to us at iosfeedback@ebay.com.

This is my home screen. I click on the first link. I have never bought it but have bought similar products from this seller. Still get the area code. Hope this helps fix the bugs.

I’m getting the same error too. Doesn’t matter if it’s in or out of watchlist or if I enter from search results or watchlist. Something is seriously busted.

This is a problem for me as well on iOS. There are items in my cart that have been there a while but now I can’t click on them to view the listing. I can’t click from search results, or from my ebay watch list. I *can* however still purchase the item(s) if they happen to be suggested in the “buy again” section, which bypasses clicking on the actual listing and opening it up ... somehow it works. This is really frustrating because I know the listing is there — the item is there and other people can see it and purchase it, but I can’t. No fun!

I’m having the same problem. I can do a general search for an item, save it to my watch list but it seems if it’s a seller I have bought from before I get the ‘error 396’ message so can’t buy from them again

It will work only if you will make this order trough goole
it won’t work trough app
in my case I bought an item from seller year ago and now app won’t let me buy it again saying Trading 396.
Finally bought it trough google 😁

I’m having the same problem with a purchase. I want to send a message for a refund and I can’t cause it’s says that the product isn’t there.
