A good friend of mine has several medals and an honorable discharge document from the civil war era.
He is not really looking to sell these but he is curious as to their fair value and what the medals were awarded for.
All of these items were his great great grandfathers, included in the pics are a picture of them, he is wearing the medals.
If anyone could provide me with any information on any of them it would be greatly appreciated.

As stated in the Historical Collectibles thread, the medals are from post-war veterans groups that he must have belonged to.
The discharge documents probably have more sentimental value to the family than monetary value and should probably be kept in the family and passed down.

If I were you, I would keep those Documents. In the future, your descendants would love to have them and once gone, you would never see them again. Keep them
