while searching the category changes to all categories. Why does it not stay in the same category?

since a few days the categry changes when I change the search. I'm in 'stamps' looking at stamps of one country. When I want to look for another item in 'stamps' the catgory changes to 'all categories' and I have to scroll down to 'stamps' again to continue looking in 'stamps'.
