Best offer response only 12 hours

As a seller ebay is supposed to give me 48 hours to respond to a best offer. However I just received a best offer from a buyer and I have only been given 12 hours to respond. Is this happening to anyone else?

Ebay policy still says 48 hours. I would call them up. You are paying for the listing and ebay needs to provide you with what they agreed to.. They expect sellers to do the same for the buyers and you are a buyer of ebay services.

The seller has 48 hours to decide whether to accept or reject your offer, or suggest another price. If they choose not to respond to you in that time, or if the listing ends before they respond, then your offer expires.

Tip
Remember, Best Offers on eBay are only valid for 48 hours. If the seller hasn't accepted your offer by then, it expires.

When a buyer makes you a Best Offer, we'll email you to let you know. You can also see any offers you've received in the My eBay Active - opens in new window or tab section and in Seller Hub within Active listings with offers - opens in new window or tab .

After receiving an offer, you have 48 hours to choose how to respond. You can:

  • Accept the Best Offer and end the listing
  • Respond with counteroffer
  • Let the offer expire. This will happen automatically after 48 hours, or when the listing ends, whichever comes first
