Well I am back again with another story about the authenticity program. It seems the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. So a pendant that passed inspection was sent to buyer and buyer returned as they did not like it. Got a notice Dec 14 that my item was delivered to me and I should refund the buyer. Went outside and searched all over for my package as I had not received it. I called eBay the next day and said I am not refunding the money until I get the package back. I checked tracking and it was showing it had been delivered back to the authentication center. The person I spoke to from the authentication said I will NOT need to refund the money as the person violated the eBay buyer's return policy and the pendant would be sent back to him and most likely his account would be suspended. I was also told to block the buyer which I did. I said again are you sure I do not have to worry about this return. Again I was told no and that the return was closed. I asked for a written email so I would have proof and it was sent to me via messaging. Two days later I am still seeing a message stating respond to the return. I called again and was told the return would fall off and NOT to worry as it has been closed. Long story short I get the pendant back about a week later and had to refund the money because the authentication center sent it back to me instead of the buyer who violated the buyer's return policy.. Again this was not my problem but eBay's problem and yet the seller has to take the brunt of it...Also the authentication center is NOT reading the description details but only looking at item specifics.. I had a different item that clearly stated in the description and pictured that 2 of of the stones have imperfections but yet the authenticity center writes seller did not disclose..Lastly lets talk about vintage gold content..Yes Congress passed the 1981 Gold and Silver act but did you know that prior to 1976 gold could test at 12.5 k and it could be marked 14k.. I have read many stories on here where vintage gold is coming in at 13.4k/ 13.3k and failing..My item just failed because it came in at 17.3k but marked 750.It was clearly listed as vintage which it is. It tested electronically and acid tested as 18k. They say X-ray machines are the most accurate but they are not 100% accurate all the time. If the person using the machine does not know how to use it properly you will get a wrong reading. This has happened to me at my jewelers. His employee was testing an item for me and then he tested it and we got 2 different reading . It was a big difference in gold content. I also have a Victorian snake necklace listed on my site and you can clearly see 4 pics I posted of X-ray readings from my jewelers x ray machine. All 4 were different readings were different. I do not care for this new program at all and have never had any problems until now....16 years later...

As far as I can see, all of your sold listings had Free Returns, which means that the buyer can return them even if they pass the Authenticity Guarantee inspection. In that case, your return policy still applies, so it is not a final sale and the buyer can return it even for buyer's remorse.
In this situation, the buyer is always asked to return the item to the Authenticity Guarantee, and they are to check it and make sure that it has not been swapped for a different item or damaged. In this case, they apparently confirmed that, so the item was then returned to you, and you need to refund the buyer under the terms of your return policy (free returns).
I'm sorry that you got misinformation or misunderstood the customer service reps, but this is how the policy is supposed to work for AG returns. It's explained in the written policy:

Sorry but he violated the eBay return policy which made him not eligible to return the item even though I have a policy which states 30 day returns. It was void to him per the authentication representative ( Ryan)... I was also told this account would be most likely suspended for whatever he did. Again the item was going to be sent back to him due to his violation.Maybe go back and read what I wrote.. Let me state this again for you...Ebay said that because he did something wrong he was NOT eligible to return this item and because of his VIOLATION OF POLICIES the authentication center would send the item back to him.

Here is the message I received from the rep...Again the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing...

@caz7722, I'm sorry that you got bad information from the customer service rep, who was not aware of eBay's policy in this situation.
As your experience proves, eBay enforces their written policies even when the customer service reps make mistakes like this.

No... They did not communicate with the authentication center and sent the item back to the wrong person ..that is what happened.. He violated the buyer return policy hence it voided his ability to return the item to me. Lastly this was told to me by 4 eBay authentication reps not one...but okay you keep covering for eBay... Why have buyer return policies if you don't follow them...
