Need Help IDing these pins

Came across these lapel pins recently and can't ID the organization they represent.  Hopefully someone will recognize them.  Thanks for your help and a belated Merry Christmas.

I will take a guess on the first one. Looks like the letters NSF. National Swimming Federation. ????

For the second, I might be able to help if I know which way is up on it. 
Is there a makers mark on the back or a horizontal pin back to orient it?

Thanks for your reply.  The logo reminds me a little of the Illinois Central RR logo - there are actually 3 pins and 2 of them have marks (sterling) - these are round and I've oriented them so that the marks are horizontal - not clear which end is up, but here they are:
