Hoping someone can help with this brooch. First off, I know little to nothing about costume jewelry but have been getting an education as I help a friend sort through his late mother's large collection. Sadly, so far I have not found much to be excited about. But today I started working on this approximately 2" in diameter brooch that appears to be by Boucher. I've learned a lot about him and his creative work.
From what I can tell so far, this may be from his "Under The Sea" collection? The mark and numbers (5617) indicate early 1950's? Gold tone metal and faux mother of pearl of various diameters? Am I on the right track? I haven't seen anything similar so how do I go about establishing a value? Any help would be greatly appreciated. God bless! Mark

You are on the right track and did your homework! Lucky you, such a beautiful brooch. Boucher signed his pieces like yours from 1950- 1955 so that gives you somewhat of a good time-line. From what I see price wise you are looking at $89-$129.
In your description ( and don't use AI, have a little info on Marcel Boucher ( french) died in 1965 etc.
I love it!
