Wow! I never knew this community was here until last week and it has taken this long to figure out how to post. (And just discovered I posted on a closed board. Smh )
I have been searching over 12 years for any information on this set, when finally, I got a match on Etsy. There I found a listing as "unmarked Schreiner" but I'm still skeptical. Perhaps someone here has more experience to identify a possible maker of this beautiful set? Thank you in advance for any assistance you can render.

Your set is lovely however the workmanship of Schreiner is not there. Look at your back and compare it with this true Schreiner piece, see the difference?
Now look at your dangles, see how Schreiner places end caps on where it meets a stone or pearl..
Sometimes costume jewelry is what it is, just costume. But it's still worthy of listing as a set or to enjoy. There is nothing wrong with you listing your set as unmarked or unsigned. I would not put Schreiner inspired on a listing though.
Best to you, Silver

Pretty set. I don't believe this set is Schreiner. The main reason is that your brooch appears to have a pin stop o the hinge. Schreiner did not use that type of pin hinge.
If you would like to learn about Schreiner Jewelry please read this thread: The family of Schreiner Jewelry Post - The eBay Community It is 15 pages long, but well worth the read and is actually started by a member of the Schreiner family that worked for the company.
This is just my opinion that the chain on the pendant is not original to the set.
Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your reply. I didn't think it was a Schreiner creation (I did not see any of the characteristics there), but when the listing popped up on Etsy as an unsigned Schreiner, I just needed to investigate further. It is a very lovely set. When I inherited it, I was stunned by it's colors and craftsmanship (especially with all those tiny stones being prong set). The photos don't do it justice. You have assuaged my curiosity. Thank you!

Thank you for your reply.
I didn't think it was a big name designer as I have found nothing to match it in over twelve years of looking. When I suddenly got a match to the necklace on Etsy, then I started searching again. My pictures do not do the set justice. It really "pops" in the right lighting. And I love the color combinations. To discover another piece out there certainly removed the belief that it was a custom made, handmade, one of a kind. I believe the lady that had them actually wore them as mourning jewelry.
Thank you very much for your response!

re: the chain. It must be the original chain, as the one on Etsy has the same snail link chain. I had thought the same thing until I saw that one.
Thank you, again!

Oh we believe you that it is a lovely piece. You don't have to wear it to enjoy it, I have many olde r brooches and clips attached to toss pillows and trees throughout my home.
Sandy gave you a link to the Schreiner post, it's worthy to view and also Sandy has a thread at the top of this forum on noteworthy hangtags and info. Please view when you have time and thanks for sharing your brooch set with us! Silver

You might want to try costumejewellerycollectore.com to see if there is any other possibilities for maker's for you. It is a very lovely piece and if worn near the beginning of the 1900's , would have been worn as mourning jewelry. Best of Luck to you.
