Hand Painted Clown Brooch Pendant Artist Signed Please Help!

clown2.jpgclown3.jpgclown1.jpg

Hello again Jewelry forum! I'm looking for help with this painted clown brooch. It measures 3.25" by 2.75". It looks like it is signed? Many items from this sale were from Russia, Poland, and Israel if that helps any. Not sure of the age either, looks like it's special to me but I'm stumped. Thank you!

It is signed Art Maki, which is a type of lacquerware made in a Japan. I’d never heard of it before googling it.

I think you are correct. I was hoping it didn't essentially say hand-painted, but that's kind of what it looks like to me. It's like hand painted lacquer-ware. Could be in the 1950s-60s occupied japan era? Also saw some pieces made with amber which is near the region where this came from, interesting lead. Thank you
