I  sold a vintage 14k necklace with small diamonds that failed the Authenticity Guarantee that said the metal length is outside tolerance.  There was no explanation and the money was returned to the client.   Do you know if there is any way of contacting GIA for a more detailed explanation?  Obviously there was no discussion with me and I don’t want to repost it and have mistakes in the description.  Thanks.

You won't be able to speak directly with anyone at GIA.  But, if you are persistent you can speak with eBay representatives within the jewelry authentication department.  I have done this three times so far, and they are helpful.

There may be a more efficient way of doing it, but I started a help chat and said I need to speak with a representative.  They offered to have a rep call me, and each time they did so promptly.  I then told the representative that I needed to speak with someone with jewelry authentication.  You will have to be persistent, but eventually they will get you there.  Have the order number, etc. handy.

Good luck!

Metal length outside tolerance? Sounds like they have a problem with the 18" length you specified. Maybe it has something to do with the shape of the necklace and how it's being measured. When you get it back I suggest taking a photo with a tape measure before relisting.

GLORIOUS!

Check out the new inefficient Seller Hub 'All Filters' panel to see how much eBay disrespects sellers' time (click).

Thanks for your suggestion.  I did get through to a rep from GIA authenticity and understand now how the error occurred.  I now know that the necklace length was measured improperly which is essential for me to know.  It will be relisted properly.
