What the Snow Eye Candy Wednesday

I don't have any sunflowers handy, or I'd post pictures of those; they're the symbol of Ukraine.  I did dig out some other stuff.  Post it if you've got it.  Keep the images smaller to speed loading, and as always nothing from a live auction.

The first one is a vase I overspent on this weekend.  Art glass signed David R Boutin.  Said niece is really into glass blowing right now, and I figure she'll like it.  The little Japanese dude is a fisherman carved out of ivory.  Found him in a church sale for a whole quarter a few years back.  No resale, but for 25 cents there wasn't much downside.  The reverse-carved stone cameo is in its new home.  The paper I found with it claimed topaz, but I figured it was probably some sort of quartz.  The buyer was quite happy.  Either it never had a mount or someone scrapped it; I'm inclined to believe the former.

Love the pulled feather design and cranberry color of that vase, ev.  That will make a handsome gift for your niece.  You must be a favorite aunt 😀.  I have to put the blinders on when it comes to glass.  It's a major weakness of mine, and one I don't have enough room to indulge.

Oh Sarah, stop!  Just stop!  Haha!  I'll settle in with that video about 9 o'clock tonight, but I did take a quick peek 😍.

I picked up this early plastic/celluloid group last weekend.  I could have sworn the bangle was carved bakelite but it didn't test with simichrome.  The openwork bracelet isn't ivory.  The earrings are screwbacks.

Gorgeous goodies, Ruth. I'm a sucker for glass too.  The depression glass group we belong in is hosting our annual glass show. It's in a fairly large exhibition hall and it's usually full of wonderful treasures. I was going to post a photo of a delectable bowl from the National show a few years back but it's not on my phone. Maybe later when I fire up the laptop.

In the meantime, here are some flowers for our dear sisters and brothers in Ukraine -- may the stay strong and defiant.

Although not jewelry ... it did have rhinestones on it.
