Well made rhinestone brooch... Maker? How hard to do small repair?

This brooch is well made. It even has a support "beam" across the back. Question is...Can any one Id the Maker? I had originally thought it was D&E "Easter Egg" brooch but after compairing them it is not. And also, the rollover part of the clasp is gone. Is this a hard repair? TIA

I can't help with the maker but putting a new clasp part in is pretty easy if you have the spare part or can scavenge it from another brooch. Just squeeze it into place with needlenose pliers. I am not handy and have manages to replace a few myself.

Be careful using needle nose plyers, the ones with teeth can damage the parts you are working on. See if you can find a pair with no teeth!

Or just leave bad enough alone. Most rollovers also work as a C clasp; they're generally fine even without the locking mechanism.

To me this looks like an Austrian piece; if it is, there's no identifying whodunnit unless it was made for a US company.

Whenever I use my pliers I cushion the flat sides with a soft cotton cloth.
