Anyone have any finds this weekend?
Here's the thread to show us what you scored.
Whiting and Davis earrings set with the most glorious saphiret (or is that sappharine to be 100% accurate?) cabs.
Might hang on to these.
Marcel Boucher rhodium plated crown brooch set colorful sparkling stones.
Cameo with an interesting scene of a "cupid seller" peddling love.
The way the seller leans forward and holds the merchanise is quite priceless, as is the little cupid looking rather desperado in the cage.

Yes, it is....Cleio, why not sell on ebay???

I figure it would be safer to sell in a well advertised auction that deals with high profile items. Less risk of a charge back or other problems, and you may get a higher price for it.
But looking atcompleteds it looks like several have been sold on ebay recently, so I could be wrong.

I don't think you're wrong, Cleio...and thanks for the headsup...
I see Sothebys has sold several....They do sell here but.....
I'll have to call the neighbor.....

Cool ! I'm familiar with Andy Warhol's Soup paintings but I have never seen the dress ! 😎
Recently someone told me one of our friends ( who sales on eBay ) bought a sculpture at an auction for $500 . When asked about it , she said one sold on eBay recently for $14,000 ! That made me look at current listed sculpture and statues . I was floored when I saw some listed here for millions , and 100's of thousands of dollars ! It did seem like most listed were listed by Art Galleries in NY etc . I would be so nervous with all the fraud and theft stories you read about here in the community . I guess they have a team of lawyers that will track the bad guys down !

OK Cali, here are my sleepers...
First is a really nothing special V US Marines pin, but it is 14K
Next is the Deco pin, it failed 14K, 10K and Silver tests. I am waiting for Platinum solution to arrive. If it fails that also I will take it to a jeweler. The center stone is a diamond with the flanking stones sapphires. I looked all over it and can find no marks:
Lastly, I got this in a lot last night, little Victorian Plique pin, tortoise shell and gold.
- Unfortunately the pin back and clasp are gone
- Fortunately, I am taking a jewelry class so maybe I will learn something that will help me make it usable again
- Unfortunately I can't sell tortoise shell
- Fortunately, I guess that means I have to keep it

LOVE that Warhol dress.
Marie, thanks for showing us your sleepers. I'm a big fan of Victorian pique jewelry. Hope that you enjoy fixing and wearing that gorgeous piece you have there.
