Tiffany Elsa Peretti earrings : real or fake ?

Hi - I'm afraid no one here can authenticate a piece of Tiffany.  Tiffany is one of those brands that requires absolute proof of authenticity.  They are a proactive member of VERO, and there are penalties if a piece is listed that's not genuine.  We can give you opinions but they don't hold any weight.  Unless you purchased the earrings from Tiffany yourself, you're taking a chance if you try to sell them without impeccable substantiation.

I'm not a hoarder! There's a price tag on everything!

Here's my two cents worth for all the good it will do.
The only way that I sell second hand Tiffany is to find at least 3 listings that the item has been sold at, doesn't have to be here.

Measure the item, weigh it in grams and test for silver. If all three of these tests fall within the numbers on the listings, I will list it as signed Tiffany and make sure that the buyer knows that I don't have any paperwork. There is no guarentee that it isn't still a fake but if it is, it's a good one. List it with as many closeup pictures as you can.

I also let them know where I got it. I have sold a couple of the heart charm bracelets like this. You don't get as much for them without the authentication.

One last thing, don't use the word authentic in the title unless Tiffany's or a Tiffany's authorized dealer checks it for you and gives you the ok.

I'm apt to scrap modern Tiffany if the only option open is selling it on Ebay.  Safer that way.  These days I know an antique dealer who loves buying Tiffany, and I can take any marked items there.  The fakes either get melted for scrap or junked.  And the real stuff is out of my hair.  The only pieces I'd sell on Ebay are pre-Peretti.   I sold an antique or close to it Tiffany green leather box a few years back, and even then did it with my fingers crossed.  It was pretty well fake-proof, but even so.
