The New Item Specifics Are Here

I'm in the process of relisting some item and have noticed that the "New Item Specifics" are in place.  So far my jewelry listings have not been affected.  They are just mixed up a bit.  I don't know about other categories, but you might want to check them out.  Hope everyone's are also OK without major changes.  Good luck.

Same reaction as you had.  have 500 to fix...takes time and yes, pin in title etc. just like you--bot does not pick it up. These have to be done by deadline 2/22-I contacted eBay and asked, so thought that might help someone else who is posting here. The forms are eze & great, but it takes time & patience. We certainly EARN our profits!

They still have all the fine item specifics with the costume item specifics and it is still taking at least DOUBLE the time to list items.  Drives me crazy!

 I have to edit many listings twice.  First, Edit to add Used/New back INTO my listing after eBoo took it out, and then Save those.  Open Edit Suggested whatevers and click Don't Show Me These Again .

All of it's busywork to fix something that wasn't broken until eBay broke it.  (rolleyes)  I've been writing a few listings even now and putting them in the Draft or Scheduled folder, but not a lot of them are jewelry.

Yep.  Creating all this busy work when we should be listing for the holidays is beyond the pale.  With the shipping delays and eBay's stupidity, think it is time to just let what is there ride and take a break.  It's not like I don't have other things to do.

Wanted to kick hinney after I saw the 21 recommended specifics for a costume brooch. A lot of them didn't make sense. It ask for gemstone carat size. What part of costume didn't make sense? Someone  with no knowledge made this list.

It's still scroll city to list in the jewelry category.  If I were trying to list from a mobile devise it would be horrible.  It's bad enough on a large screen monitor.  They didn't make a list ... they just combine fine and costume and left it to the seller to try and figure out what pertains to the item they are listing.   

ASSININE, doesn't even begin to describe what was done in jewelry.

Hang on ladies..I made DOUBLE sure the other week when I filled in ALL their stinkin specifics..both REQUIRED & RECCOMMENDED j to my few listings just in case.

Today I had 4 items had to do again as everything had vanished already   So what that tells me is we have to check everything constantly till they get it fixed!

Dejavu  (just like the last time they hit the clothing with this keerap!)  Change it to their whims & then do it again...just because.

 Meanwhile Auctionbytes says sales were down 10% BEFORE the Fall Debacle and users were down 5% too .... and no one can buy what they can't find.  Odds are those numbers are going to drop even further.  Meanwhile fees are up, and those coupons they're pushing are us paying to advertise on our own platform, never mind off of it.  I predict a lot of sellers are going to look at the mayhem, the increased fees and the decreased sales and sell elsewhere.

Oh, and that Send Offers thing?  Sent 15 the other day.  Not a single nibble.  I just sent another 10.  Not that I'm expecting much.

Great timing to jumble up the item specifics just before the holidays.  I wonder if buyers will find anything they're looking for?  It's almost as if ebay is trying to sabotage us.  ebay is after the luxury dollar these days.  All those scrolling ads for high end sneakers, watches, purses, expensive trading cards...  When was the last time you saw a scrolling ad for costume jewelry or antiques?  We know where their advertising dollars go because that's where the money is.  Never mind that ebay was built on the backs of us little guys.  Just promote your listings, send coupons, pay more fees and bend to more rules.  Phooey on ebay for stealing from the poor to give to the rich!

It took me almost 2 weeks just to add Required Specifics to my work and my personal listings.   I can't even look at Recommended Specifics.  That's time I should have spent doing listings.  I could go on but I'll stop here.  Just needed to add my frustration to everyone else's 😝.
