Help with green beaded necklace, please?

I'm pretty sure the green, faceted beads are glass, but wondering if the larger beads in the center of each strand might be malachite, or are they glass, too? Anyone have any ideas on that, and the origin? No marks, anywhere. Thanks very much.

Not malachite - jade or agate (though I vote jade).  Malachite isn't translucent like that (you wont see light through malachite).

They look like glass to me.

I don't think they are malachite. The swirls seem to be the same from bead to bead. And are too shiny for malachite.  Malachite is typicaly used with sterling, although that is not always the case.  Art glass beads.

I have several pieces of malachite jewelry so its appearance in person is what I'm going by.

Thank you, ladies. I'm pretty sure they're not jade, which, I think, I would recognize. Too smooth and, well, glassy. 🙂

I would call then swirled glass kind of looks like porphyr glass.

Though the beauty may be in the butterfly, the struggle and growth occur in the cocoon.
