Eye Candy TOO FRIGGIN' COLD Wednesday

It feels like January around here.  Good for baking, miserable for anything else.    Post some if you've got some!  Keep the images smaller to speed loading, and as always no live auctions.

The ring is one I got in a job lot at a consignment store.  No marks; it's about as real as reality TV but looks like a paraiba tourmaline.  The earrings are new and sterling, but what's the mottled blue and white "stone"?  The purple heart necklace is Lucky Brand, long gone to a new home.

I agree, when it’s cold baking is a good thing. I feel the need to bake bread when the temperature drops, but cookies will also work Smiley Happy

Cookies will always work, regardless of the temperature 😉

Went up-river to a festival Saturday and actually brought home some treasure. At this point I'm keeping them all.

Nice finds, Thirry! I especially like the cat brooch, the millefiori beads,  and that last unsigned brooch.

Nasty weather here too ,  minus 17 with the wind chill yesterday and today is looking pretty dismal as well.

Re: Eye Candy TOO FRIGGIN' COLD Wednesday

It's been miserable here since Monday afternoon.  Went with the DDL to the grocery store walked in it was 70 degrees no wind … walked out an hour later it was 48, the wind was blowing and it was raining.  Hasn't been the same since!  LOL

But luckily we went to the local flea on Sunday and I picked these up.

Two signed Warner cats and a Ciner strawberry.

Thirry, can't blame you for wanting to keep them.  Love the unsigned cross.

Evelyb30 could the stone be Larimar?

I LOVE those funky milefiori beads.  Those mottled earrings are beautiful, and I love all the rhinestone kitties.

Last night was very cold, but I love this weather.  I took a long walk around 7 p.m.  Good breathing weather, and the full moon had a halo.

This was in the thrift shop case and sold as costume.  14k modernist pink topaz ring.

Definitely not larimar.  I've handled my fair share of it and while there is some resemblance the colors and pattern are all wrong.

Re: Eye Candy TOO FRIGGIN' COLD Wednesday

So I braved the cold today and went to a few bazaars.

After seeing Zienty's Rolex gold and diamond ladies watch I am now inspired to look at watches at these sales.

Well the gods smiled, because I found this Birks 14k white gold  ladies watch today.

The good news is it works.

The bad news is that I need a loupe to actually tell the time it is so small. Smiley LOL Smiley LOL

You are a savvy shopper. Your watch is as good as gold AND keeps time. The best of all possible worlds.

Re: Eye Candy TOO FRIGGIN' COLD Wednesday

Arlene, you have such good luck jool hunting!

Here's one of the pieces I picked up last weekend. It's 17" and the beads are strung on a very fine silver chain. It took a good two hours with toothpicks, q-tips and warm soapy water to remove the grime from the little pockets around the knobby parts of the beads. I'm guessing either Germany (pre-war) or Czechoslovakia -- unless someone has a better idea of where chains were used for bead stringing. It also has a slightly unusual safety clasp. I put a photo of it in my composite. It has a flat loop instead of a single post.

Without further ado --
