Hello, I have this old bowl that I've been calling a "planter"
It is marked on the bottom "Heritage 1847 Rogers Bros IS 9417"
It's gold in color.
Could it be an ice bucket?
I would like to use the correct term to list it, thank you kindly for your help.

Not sure what it is but '1847 Rogers Bros' indicates it's silverplate. Rogers Bros patented plating with silver in 1847.

Somewhat in the the '60's but actually up to the decadence of the '80's were decorative planters - pots. As this fits in the palm of your hand it's not big enough for a champagne chiller or even a wine chiller. So think of African Violets you want to display in your home but want to do it elegantly. This is what you would use. The plant wouldn't necessarily be planted but in a small pot inside of this pot. Does this make sense ?
It doesn't appear to be large enough as a fruit bowl either.
Good Luck in your sale.
