Help with flatware hallmark, key (old fashioned skeleton key type)

I have a single piece of silverware, this ornate spoon that has a single stamping on the back, a key. I haven't been able to identify it. I'd also like to know if it's sterling.

Your help would be awesome! Thank you.

To me your piece doesn't look American made and that mark doesn't look familiar at all ...you may want to look for the mark by google Silver Makers Marks (includes silverplated marks) then try looking at marks under other countrys such as Denmark and Holland for example....long shot but who knows?

I also have some pieces with just a skeleton key and found a place that said it could be Franklin Silver Plate.  They were later taken over by Rogers, then Lunt & Bowlen 1922.  Those were the notes I had made but cannot find the post I found it on now.  I found my pattern under Franklin on the site sterlingflatwarefashions.com.  They also have silver plate information.  Hope that helps.

I can't tell you how good it is to receive a reply and  information. Thank you for taking the time to send an answer!  It's funny how this stuff can get under the skin. 😉  This info is incredibly helpful.  Peace
