HELP! Identifying an object :o)

Good morning 🐵  Hope this finds you well! Hoping to tap the knowledge of the eBay community to identify an object . . . No one in the family knows (or can remember) what it is, and I'm stumped too. It appears to fasten to a table, a wall, or ???, and it may be used to pinch, hold, ??? something . . . It has been stored in a CT estate for MANY decades. Any help will be MUCH appreciated!

I think it must be something used to crush hard shelled nuts and stuff or something like a door stopper, if you have an android phone you can use google lens app to take a photo of the thing and it will browse the internet with the pic and find similar or the exact product, if you have an apple phone there is a same way to do it but sorry i don't know how to 😞

You can do the same search directly from this page (well at least with Chrome you can).  Right click on your photo, then keft click on Search Google for Image
