I purchased 2 bags from a boutique a few years ago. I didn't use them and I want to sell them. The bags were represented as Upcycled. It resembles a Louis Vuitton Speedy BUT It's a satchel made from faux leopard fur. It has 2 wide strips of the LV Monogram Canvas going down each side. Nowhere on the bag does it say Louis Vuitton. I would represent the bag as a novelty bag. The lining isn't like a Louis or anything really. I would put a disclaimer stating this was Not a Louis Vuitton Bag.
The price would be $460.00 as I paid much more that that. Is this considered an illegal transaction?
Thank you

In order to be legal, Louis Vuitton monogram canvas on an "upcycled" bag would have to have come from a genuine Louis Vuitton bag. And I sincerely doubt that someone wrecked a genuine bag to upcycle it.
Just because there's no "writing" with the LV name doesn't mean it can be sold. That it has the trademarked monogram pattern and wasn't made by LV makes it counterfeit.
Warning: Authenticity disclaimers, admission that an item isn't authentic or indication of lack of knowledge are disallowed per ebay policy.

Yes, it is against the law.
